Glastonbury Left Field stage has announced an 18 hour marathon warm up show in Brighton two weeks before the festival in support of Rock Against Racism. The Brighton event kicks off at noon on Friday the 13th June at Coalition on Brighton beach with an exclusive preview of the Rock Against Racism feature film “Who Shot The Sheriff?” which includes unseen footage of The Clash, The Libertines and Hard Fi.
In the afternoon Coalition will host open mic, comedy, performances from The Jamestown Union and Rodney Branigan ….surprise live bands and collaborations, and even a samba session from Brighton’s own Carnival Collective in traditional Left Field Glastonbury style.
The show moves over to Komedia for an evening of the finest Left Field live entertainment headlined by the hotly tipped Brixton band The Thirst, who are making a massive noise with their latest single on Ronnie Wood’s label. Brighton’s finest up-and coming live act The Perils complete the Komedia bill. These boys have been tearing venues in London and Brighton to shreds.
And then it’s back to Coalition for the final blast through from midnight to 6am with many acts still to be confirmed but including Elle Milano, Rob the Rich, Maths Class and Night of Treason – some very special guests are expected to join the fun and top notch Js, including Blah Blah Blah and many more.
Upping the ante another notch there will be a second late night show at the Joogleberry Playhouse with performances by Emily Baker, Bitter Ruin and the Bobby McGees, plus comedy and magic… and surprises.
