You sit behind a desk, work all the time and pay extortionate prices for everything you need to live comfortably. At least you have the right to make as much noise as you want in a controlled environment… right? Well not exactly, this may be about to change. The government is proposing a law which states that all clubs need to have sound limiters installed – preventing any volume levels exceeding 70db. Now we are not here to glamorize anti-social behavior but in a club noise should go unmetered. As long as no one else is affected by the sound then why should it matter. Currently if venues do have complaints made against them these cases are reviewed individually. This results in an outcome which is often in the communities favor. Let’s not let the government go all Orwellian on our asses and lock down our venues which cause no disruption at all.
What next a ban on queuing and telling strangers your life story?

As somone who damages his earing through extensive clubbing I must say I’m not totally against this one. Alsthough the proposed 70 dB is far too low, somewhere around 95 dB w ould be ok imho.
