Sofa-loving Slackers Convention have come up trumps with London bass-riding rude boys 2 Bit Thugs as March headliners at their bi-monthly night, now residing in a more apt home – the dirty, sweaty, sea-facing Volks.
The 2bit boys bring a bit of dubby bass wobble and hip hop punch to the largely breaks/techno-oriented night, or as they like to call “gangster house”.
The night features below-the-belt carnage from residents Luqas, Dirtbomb, Pool, R2Dtak, Riffraff, Toxic Shock, DJY-Not, JC, Mr Frisk.
They say:
2 Bit Thugs smashed onto the underground dance music scene in 2008 with their genre-crushing blend of shit-kicking beats, elastic basslines and trademark hip hop influences. This much in demand full throttle DJ sets combine womping and wobbling bass lines from drum n bass to house, from hip hop to garage, baltimore to dubset….
If you don’t catch 2 Bit Thugs in Brighton, you might be able to see them this summer, as the boys are lined up to play at Glade Festival in July and Aeon Festival (Exeter) in August.
