30-year-old French artist and designer Anna Chocola (Anna Orliac) has put together a lovely little France-meets-Brighton mix of all her current favorite tunes. The mix starts off nicely with acid house influenced “White Night Two”, from Institubes babe Surkin, off his “Next of Kin” EP which came out exactly one year ago. It also includs firm electro classics, such as Daft Punk and Booka Shade…

Their new album is studded with gems, each one quite different, which is understandable when you consider the range of artists they worked with, from Detroit to Bulgaria and back round to the dirty streets of London.

I’ve not walked down Audio’s stairs for what seems like ages, and being there again, I can safely say that I’ve missed the place. It did, after all, used to feel like a second home. Stompa Phunk ruled and every weekend was a sure hotspot for quality music with a likeminded crowd. But like all good things, it had to come to an end.

There was a time in Brighton when nightclubs were at permanent capacity, thanks in part to the big beat popularity and the city’s reputation as a party town, but underpinning the thriving night scene was the sweaty, pulsating free party scene that took over fields, beaches, mansions, vacant buildings, warehouses, coastal strips and sea archways.
