Burnt Toast and Beat Circus go head to head in The Latest Music Bar (previously Joogleberry) basement with an almighty soundclash to make the walls wobble. It is also Brighton Fusion’s very own Catherine’s (@prycie) birthday, as well as Amy the film maker on the door, who’s show features on the local sounds of Radio Reverb.
Burnt Toast’s Blackbeltjonez & Russ Rockwell will be dropping funk, hip hop, dubstep and a sack-load of weird shit (metaphorically speaking) to counter the breaks, tech biz and a general dancefloor filth assault from Beat Circus’ Rusty & Jay Jay Lovell.
Kicking off the event in the basement at 9pm are Italian punk/funk/rock nutters Imbred Knucklehead. This is only their second date in Brighton so whilst not technically an exclusive, it’s still quite a coup.
Meanwhile upstairs in the bar, Reverb DJs (from Beltdriven & Slipstream shows) square up with Cookshop Record’s Digital Midgets and Nick Maxwell of Menagerie/Special School fame.
£3 on the door and all for a good cause: to swell the coffers of Radio Reverb, Brighton’s only community radio station.

This was a good night – the faux American band were punktastic, lots of friendly warm people – almost wished it didn’t have to end at 2am!
Prycie was martinied up to her eyeballs and arrive with a swarm of friends, looking celebratory and happy. c
