As far as clubs go in Brighton, Ben Gill and team have held on to their reign at the Ocean Rooms for a good run. Though no one thought it would crumble down the way it has. Following a death at the venue on New Year’s Day, the venue was shut by the council and put up for sale by the owners.

artrepublic launch national Street Art competition

After the huge success of last year’s Art of Hope competition, artrepublic has launched its second nationwide competition, Street Art. The graffiti art campaign, in association with the homeless charity StreetSmart, intends to raise the profile of not only the organisation, but street artists across the UK.

The Field Live @ Audio

[ November 11, 2009; 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. ] Audio have lined up The Field, aka Axel Willner, to perform a live show at the venue in November. To my dismay it’s an early show – something I’ve never really been a fan of. I prefer to have the whole evening to enjoy not to climax quickly and toddle off home. Saying that it is on a weekday – maybe it’s a safer choice after all.
