It’s two weeks ’til the next bank holiday, and I don’t know about you, but I already feel like I’ve stepped into a pressure cooker before the time is up.

Work and all its many guises – catching/avoiding colds going around, recovering from, looking for other, waking up to go to, wishing I could leave early from, actually getting into – is starting to wear me down. It’s not that it’s bad – but it’s just that each taste of sunshine and days off makes me greedier for more, and while my to do list goes infinitely higher, my fun list seems to diminish…….

And that’s why it’s all about MAY BANK HOLIDAY weekend!

Slackers All-Dayer, The Hub, Brighton - 2006?

As always, breaks n beats promoters Slackers Convention are hosting their free all-dayer in a pub, on Sunday 3 May, this time in The Worlds End on London Road, Brighton, 3pm – 2am, with a BBQ 3pm – around 7pm.  New venue, yet another place to outwear the welcome.

If you haven’t been to a Slackers all-dayer, they say:

Basically Slackers takes over a suitable pub, installs large soundsystems inside and out, provides a BBQ and entertainment in the afternoon accompanied by all kinds of music throughout the whole day getting increasingly heavier into the early hours and all for free. We also invite the Sun along so this is definately one for the diary.

The 11-hour lineup includes residents and guests from Slackers Convention, Funkollectif, Electric Playboys, Flawless, Allied Beats, NSB Radio, Cut Loose, Brap FM, including: LuQas, POoK, Moif, RiffRaff, Dirtbomb, Statikedge, Biggsy, Toxic Shock, Dan Sampayo, Granted, Stebo, DJ Y-Not and more tbc. Mean Poppa Lean

This Bank Holiday Sunday, Allied Beats invite you to join them at Audio for an all building take-over like no other. Three party crews (The Slackers Convention, Electric Playboys & Flawless crews)  present 10 hours of pure unadulterated FUN FUN FUN, with a BBQ 6-9pm to boot.

On the live music front, it’s all Brighton baby: chickens come home to roost for the former Skint darlings Lo-Fidelity AllStars, who will be celebrating the launch of 3rd album “Northern Stomp” in June; tongue-in-cheek music nickers the Kleptones, and funk outfit  Mean Poppa Lean.

On the DJ front, the night promises breaks-o-plenty with Breakspoll-winner Hexadecimal (Scott) and Junior Hacksaw returning to Slackers Part Deux, along with Loop De Ville, Statikedge (Flawless) , Dirtbomb, Pav & Lucas (Slackers/Brap FM), Granted (Electric Playboys), Dan Sampayo (Electric Playboys), Gildror, Phat Pants (Electric Playboys), Del Gazeebo, and Broken Headfones.
